Collective worship is integral to the life of our school and takes place across the school each day both in the morning and afternoon. Each day, all classes begin with a short worship involving a prayer, opportunities for reflection and a chance to look forward to the day ahead.
The whole school then meet each afternoon for Collective Worship. It is planned and evaluated each term with children, clergy and staff, in line with our key values for the half term and tailored to the needs of the school. The Headteacher, members of the church, staff and pupils lead collective worship.
Pupils participate actively in collective worship, planning, delivering worship, leading prayers, key messages.
On a Friday, we are joined in church by the large majority of our parents for Celebration Worship, where we celebrate all of the children who have shone like a star.
We use Roots and Fruits, as well as Picture News to enhance our worship.

In worship this afternoon, we were identifying how life sometimes throws us an ‘ow’moment and that our core value of Hope is so important in times of need. We identified how we might portray during an ‘ow’ moment and we are keen to learn how we can help and support each other through these.

In worship this afternoon, we focused on a very personal issue to Wincle School. Having not been open for the last three days due to having no water in our bore hole, the children learnt about how this had happened, the reasons why and then linked back to their learning about the sustainable development goals. Having been impacted personally, the children are very keen to ensure they spread the word about these goals and focus their energy on saving water for not only their use, but for others

This afternoon in our school worship, we looked at our school’s value of hope. We listened to the story of Noah and how he needed to have hope that God’s plan was right. We then thought about what we are hoping for this year in school to make our ‘We hope to shine’ display.

In worship yesterday, we revised our knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals which linked brilliantly to the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. We can’t believe how many the children remembered!

In worship, we have been continuing to learn about the purpose of the Bible. We know it has 66 books inside it and yesterday, we looked at the big story told by all of these books. The children recalled their prior knowledge brilliantly and worked hard sequencing pictures of the big story.

In worship yesterday, we began to focus on the very special book – the Bible. The children collected 66 books and built a tower that Mrs G found very difficult to hold onto. They were shocked to find that there are actually 66 books in the Bible. They then put the English knowledge to the test and identified a range of genres. They were pleased to be able to spot the many different genres of the books in the Bible and moving forward over the next few weeks developing their knowledge.

It was lovely to take part in The Real Nativity this morning at Pye Ash Farm! Happy Christmas!

Thank you, Vicar Liz, for leading our Christingle service this morning. A fantastic opportunity to celebrate and reflect upon Jesus being the light of the world. Well done to our headboy for reading so beautifully and to all the children for singing so sweetly whilst holding their Christingle. A fabulous wayto celebrate the festive season. #ShineLikeStars. ⭐️⭐️

Well done to the Safety Committee for leading an informative and interactive worship on Anti-Bullying week. They did a fantastic job! #shinelikestars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yesterday, in worship, we came together to remember Winc, who we sadly lost over the holidays. The children shared their memories and supported each other through this OW moment. Once the snow has gone, we plan to hold a worship on the field to celebrate Winc. Thank you for being the best school dragon!

In worship this week, we have been revising our school vision and the pupils had to work out what the picture was depicting behind a series of squares that helps understand our vision and how we can put it into practice. It won’t surprise you to know that the pupils worked it out very quickly! It was The Good Samaritan and the pupils easily identified how they can shine like a star from the story

In our worship this morning, we presented to the parents some of our learning from the week. The children confidently explained what they had been learning and how and it was great to see such confidence and hear detailed descriptions. We also got to hear the great writing by KB! Along with these presentations, we also celebrated our stars of the week.
